The approach road to the Salang Tunnel in the Hindu Kush mountains which divide Afghanistan. The actual tunnel mouth is at the end of the dark line of the avalanche protection tunnel. The tunnel is approx 2km long and was still unlit and being cleared of rubble and explosives.
