Vehicles, vans and travels
the practical car...
We have always used our vehicles as campers, and over the years we have lived or traveled off-and-on in Mercedes vans, VW's and our LandRovers as well as camping in smaller cars - the Renault Kangoo is a perfect car/camper!
At the moment we have a very boring (it doesn't break down all the time!) VW van...
bed in the back, 4x4 and mud&snow tyres, fast and economical - until they make an electric van it will do!
Before the VW was the Landy...
we have had 2 Landys (and I had a Series III long ago too) but the 110 SW Rest of the World model was the one we really traveled in... Gilf Kebir, Libya, Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Europe all over... Sometimes we got back without a major breakdown, but that's Landys for you... it's part of the experience!
The Mower...
Definitely mustn't forget the mower - as this video shows, it's a real favourite with the visitors!
Kangoo - drives like a car, carries a tractor!
It's amazing what you can fit in a Kangoo! Renault's finest!
The Horsebox a house-in-a-box!
We spent several years living in the Horsebox s we built the Irish house. It's still there, and now it's the spare room/study
The Mercedes, our first proper camper van
A Proper Mercedes - twice as long as a house, and with two double beds, a kitchen and a woodburner in the back - 507D high top long-wheelbase version
And of course, the Trapeze Truck!
Ford D series with a hydraulic wooden tower fitted by Manchester Council, and reborn as the rig for High Voltage Swinging Trapeze
